The way others see him depends on the clan. If you're an outsider, then just like anyone else, you'll see him as an arrogant tom, whose bark is worse than his bite and who needs to be knocked down a few pegs. Gorsestar is the type to laugh unabashedly if a cat from another clan happens to fall or have some sort of misfortune, and overall doesn't care what others think of him. Other clanners have also seen him as strange, since he can flash between being annoyingly joking and being polite. The politeness though, has so much underlying sarcasm that is cannot be taken as true politeness. As for cats within his clan, they see the odd part of him, but respect him. Gorsestar has shown during his short time as leader that he would to anything for his clan, and while he is arrogant and uncaring toward the rest of the forest, he wont argue against helping some of his warriors go and fix the elder's den or watch over a few kits in the nursery while their mother stretches her legs. Still, overall, he's seen as a little distant, though pretty harmless (until he gets into battle).
The way the tom really is, isn't that different than how the world sees him. He truly doesn't give a rat's tail about the other clans, and looks down on anyone who isn't of ThunderClan blood. He could care less about the criticisms of others, because he knows as a leader he is the highest-rank in the forest and has to answer to nobody. Since StarClan hasn't shown him otherwise, he has to be right, right? Or at least that's his justification. He isn't entirely cold-hearted though- if you're in his favor and a part of his clan, his sarcasm will be non-existent and he may do little things like get you a mouse to eat out of the blue. These cats though, are extremely rare, and as of now the only cats he would do this for are the medicine cats and his deputy. If you're in ThunderClan but not necessarily close to him, he will still treat you with respect and try not to snap at you. With apprentices.. he tries to be patient, tries, and generally stays away from them because he gets easily fed up with them. One of the things that isn't the same as how he is seen though, is the fact that he's dangerous. Not like outwardly 'I will kill you all!' but if you cross him, he will find a way to get back at you, and those around you. Gorsestar is also a cat fond of breaking spirits, and is a bit sexist with she-cats, thinking they should lead the leading to the toms and scoffing at any that actually have a backbone.
i can't stop 'cause I'm having too much fun *
Gorsekit was born to two ThunderClan cats, Fawnpelt and Darkclaw. His mother was a sweet, bright she-cat who couldn't wait to have kits while his father was a dark, solemn tabby who rarely smiled and was deputy of the clan. How the two came together, no one really knows, but Fawnpelt seemed to deeply love her mate no matter what. Time passed, and one moon the she-cat gave birth to two three kits: Gorsekit, Dawnkit, and Reedkit. Their mother was ecstatic, and Darkclaw seemed happy to have two sons to carry on the family lineage. Early on, it was noticed that the tom almost completely ignored his daughter. Not only that, but as soon as the two remaining toms were able to stand, he was already talking to the leader about who their mentors would be.As apprentices, Darkclaw often butted into the training of his sons, but their mentors dared not defy the powerful deputy. Reedpaw wanted the approval of his father, and the dark tabby's attitude had rubbed off a little on the orange tom. With Gorsepaw, however, he not only wanted to make his father proud, but he also showed a greater desire than being a mere warrior; he wanted to be leader. Darkclaw seemed happy with this and took to spending more time with Gorsepaw than his remaining kits. Reedpaw developed a jealous attitude toward his brother, while his sister seemed to resent them both from the start, as she was often put to the side.
Darkclaw ended up taking over Gorsepaw's training completely, and actually showed emotion for once at his warrior ceremony.
With Gorsepaw now Gorseclaw, for his exceptional battling skills, he was quick to lead patrols and get a bit of extra treatment for being the deputy's son. However, a few moons later, the current leader died and Darkclaw took over as Darkstar. His deputy? Gorseclaw. After the tom became deputy, things slowly began to change. The father and son were inseparable and were often seen muttering among themselves with dark grins plastered on their muzzles; clearly big things were in plan for the future. Sadly, for Gorseclaw, his father lost his last life.
Gorsestar has been a leader for about seven moons now, and we currently find the clan predicament we are in. Who else would be the arrogant ThunderClan leader who brags about StarClan's message?
